1st Gen project

Checking here first as to whether anyone's interested in taking on a project, before I try and get rid of it elsewhere. It needs work, (understatement big_smile). All the internals are stripped as are some small engine parts. I had started working on it a year or two ago until that bonfire was pissed on, (not related to anything with the LG itself), hence why it never made it past that strip down point. PM me if anyone's interested.

Re: 1st Gen project

What kind of project, Matt?  How much work does it need and what's not working now?  I'm as much curious as anything, but I like to think about these things and ponder whether I should do them.  Got any pics?

It left mine running great and drivable (I drove it back from Logeys to mine, then I used it as a farm truck taking hay bales around the fields and towing harrows, rollers and stuff, it was just a little smokey for MOT'ing under heavy throttle).

Not sure what Matt has done to it!

Re: 1st Gen project

It's mainly just the turbo, (removed that to start on the knacked seals, but never got there, for some reason...), air filter housing and starter which are missing from the engine bay. Two are inside the vehicle and one is still on the 2nd gen at the moment.

Internally, everything is piled up inside. Seats, dashboard, everything. Dashboard came out because of the need to access those wheel arches and to find out where all that unnecessary cabling goes.

Not fussed on letting it go, as I never have been, but circumstances dictate choices, and it needs someone who is handy all round to sort it.

Re: 1st Gen project

Love the look of a 1st gen as I do with most older Toyota's....make a great overland truck.

Is it an auto?? Are those roof bars strong??

Re: 1st Gen project

Manual, and no idea on the roof bar strength. big_smile

Re: 1st Gen project

If I had any space/time/knowledge/money I'd have it ...

I saw some lovely wheels and tyres the other day that were just begging for a truck to go on !

Ahhhhhhhhhhh....storage does sound a bit shakey at the moment though..

Could do with him down south to work as a driver for my company... No one seems to want to work!..
