A good start to Christmas, finished late yesterday...saved the cieling...just

Only one problem now....can't get two radiators to heat up, pipes in the loft are hot, but must be air somewhere cos it isn't reaching the rads.... maybe the pumps gone too sad

cheeap copper is mixed with iron rotts like that in the pic
its magnetic too the cheaper the copper the more magnetic it is

New pump ordered from screwfix (cos it was only £42.99 + £5 p&p) Thursday @ 15:30...arrived yesterday @ 12:00  yikes  yikes

Fitted it today, within five mins all radiators good and hot  big_smile  big_smile

Glad it's sorted. That's some nasty corrosion you had there. There was definitely something iron based in that section, by the looks of it.

It has 8 outlets (4 flow and 4 return) and a sealed divider in the middle, there are two in the system and the other half of this one is still like new, as is the other one....don't know how long it was leaking for, but noticed last winter the system was struggling to get hot and the boiler wouldn't reach temperature, now thats been done and this pump fitted normality has returned (had to go round turning the rads down last night)  big_smile
