spotlights, a question for someone with leccy knowledge.

so, my spot lights run off my main beam switch, the spotlight switch next to the gear selector does fek all.

one of my spotlights has no glass left on it (big stone killed it) so was thinking of removing or getting a new set, only if the new set i get will be brighter and awesome, because the ones on there now are as bright as the sidelights.

i hate electrics at the best of times so nothing i want to go too in depth with, so a question for someone in the know, will new better spots fix this candle issue or is a full rewire needed? and why the hell are they running off main beam?

Re: spotlights, a question for someone with leccy knowledge.

Wire them up on their own feed. The main beam may just be switching a relay for the spotlights. There's a diagram here:

Re: spotlights, a question for someone with leccy knowledge.

They come on with main beam because the headlights are too dim to see where you're going at warp speed.

Re: spotlights, a question for someone with leccy knowledge.

There useually wired via the main beam so you dont have them on and forget their on when on the road as i believe it's illeagle, i reccoment running the feed from the main through an isolator switch as well, handy at mot time
