I was going to leave it for eleven working days to post them, just to make the point highly clear before I acknowledged their existence in any way or form, but I couldn't even be arsed counting the days. big_smile I could always supply a condensed version of the requested information. I'm sure most of it would be encompassed by one line of text or so, namely: "Steve' you're a cock". whistle

Re: Guess whom...

You can't expect people of that ilk to understand rational, logical thought and concepts Bio. big_smile It's like pissing into the wind trying to get owt through to them. Unfortunately, I've had more than my fair share of dealings with sociopaths, and rationality, logic and decency/morality are just complete unknowns to them. They cannot grasp or apply those concepts for love nor money. Mind you, I do now know what seems to truly incense them more than anything else on earth, and I discovered it completely by accident to boot. whistle

Don't I ferkin know it. Emotional detachment rules. big_smile

Seems to be that practically living in the workshop for the last several weeks has had a very good effect on my levels of stress, as well as other perks. The lathe work especially has been concentrating my attention on something useful and peaceful. Buggered for using that at the minute though, (I've had to leave a piece mounted in the chuck until I can get a knurling tool and tap to finish it), so I picked up a pair of needles and ball of wool today from my mothers. Thought I'd do some knitting to keep my levels consistent and calm in the absence of the lathework, now I know the golden rule. Had to ask mother how to cast on though. Like a tool, I couldn't for the life of me remember. It has been a few years since I last knitted though, in my defence. big_smile

That is indeed the lamest legal email ever. Freedom of information only applies to public bodies and you haven't divulged any data so data protection is kind of out too. Re: Guess whom...

None specified, which means you register and you take your chances. big_smile There are absolutely no guarantees of anything given. End of the day, it's a privately owned board. The tools have no rights on here other than what the admins allow them. They can like it or lump it, but they can merrily not use the board if that bothers them, and if they get ditched for being tools, tough.

That's the sole reason why there are no terms and conditions. In general, anything and everything is allowed, but I can guarantee that no tool like that will ever try and dictate what his expected rights are on here.

Questions

Did he give his full information, and was this verified when he registered. If not under the data protection act you can not give out any information as you can not be sure that he is requesting the information about himself.

Also if you supply any information about the person(s) who have posted about him without a court order you would also be breaking the data protection act, i.e. the law.

In the case of supplying people with any information that is stored on a computer, the safe approch, so as to not risk breaking the law, is to request a court order first.

I don't think to date I have commented about him, but as one of his posts as frgui keeps appearing on my phone with obsene language which breaches a few laws, I'll say it now

IMHO
no statement is meant to upset ,anger ,cause offence slander libel or infringe on any copyright either expressed or implied or in any other way be part of any conspiracy or unlawful attempt at overthrowing any legally elected government or to cause the downfall of society ..

big_smile big_smile had already suggested that. Never been a fan of making people have to register or log in to view stuff though, and at the end of the day, a certain person registered twice, (the second time around, he knowingly risked incurring any comeback he has received, and I ain't showing any sympathy for him as I went against the advice of others to give him a chance the first time he registered), so he can kiss my arse if he thinks we're going to bend over to soothe his fragile ego.

If feckwits want to be feckwits, that's their choice, but they sure as hell won't come here and expect everyone to arse around watching what they say because of some cretin who needs to either get a life or suchlike, and we ain't going to pander to them in any other way or form either. He knowingly made his choice to register, knowing that he would be banned again as he is not welcome here, so he can either like or lump the results from it.

If the solicitor crap is actually more than the pathetic pout of a useless, incompetent, waste of good air fecktard, he can gladly print this response and show it them, 'cos this truly is the only response he'll get from me regarding anything concerning him.

Re: Guess whom...

What princesses don't tend to understand is that it is not defamatory to have a low opinion of someone, nor is it defamatory to broadcast that opinion.  And even statements of fact about people would have to be read in context to see whether or not they were likely to be taken seriously.  Let me give an example.
"I think gra is a sheepshagging git."  This is my opinion.  It is not defamatory.
"Gra shags sheep".  This is a statement of fact.  It may not however be taken seriously
"I happen to know that Gra has 8 convictions for bestiality".  This is a statement of fact which might be taken seriously.
However, it is also true, and so not defamatory.

In conclusion: lots of posts which say that someone is a complete dick do not amount to defamation.  Move on - nothing to see here...  cool

A point of order my noble lord, your statement may be considered inaccurate yikes

A dick is useful, calling someone a complete dick infers that they are useful !

There will be some who might not agree to that !

With regard to calling somebody "a complete dick", could that be regarded as being insulting/offensive enough to warrant court action if the object of the abuse was known to be a practising Jew and thus circumsised ?

The taxi option was the only sensible one open, in the absence of a) a car, b) a bike, and c) a huge streak of masochism plus 6 hours to kill.
