Re: Ever had that feeling that you have to agree ?

try owning an orchard and vineyard, so far we have 10% of our usual apple crop and the vines have so far refused to flower, 2 weeks late.  Last time this happened was 1993.

I was told that after a very dry winter this can be a consequence

Still tis not as bad as France, Burgundy has been hit by 3cm hail stones and this happened in the Provence region

1,000 hectares were wiped out that's serious stuff

must not grumble, ho hum....... whistle

Well my apples are bigger and more numerous than last year, haven't got any grapes here, but the neighbours have and theirs look to be flowering well, perhaps you're in the wrong part of the world  smile

and haggis running everywhere

Our greengages, plums and pears flowered and set ok, the apples were a few days later and then April was washed out.

So perhaps instead of making wine and cider this year we could distill something from the plums........ eau de vie, tis lovely stuff
