Harvest hiatus

Sunday proved interesting as my appendix failed and off to GWH I went for removal. Came home yesterday with my midrift feeling like it has done 12 rounds with Anthony Joshua.

To have to rest in the middle of harvest is quite interesting as concepts go so I'll probably go buy another Alfa to cheer myself up......

Excellent - the boy and I will be round when you set it free !!!

He's currently sat in Lyon airport waiting for a delayed flight home - he's had to go to Hermitage, meet Michel Chapoutier and sample his wines ...

Apparently it was a real struggle - I wish I'd known there were jobs like that 40 years ago !

lol

Re: Harvest hiatus

I’m up and about and now not sweating buckets but I can’t lift anything for another 4 weeks or so, tomorrow is another picking day and my contribution will be to make tea and lunch and to drive a truck to the winery.

Management at its finest !

Have you coughed or sneezed yet ?

devil

Re: Harvest hiatus

Bob, your concern is immesurable, i am without cough or sneezes, I am able to do a normal day as long as it does not involve lifting anything.

We picked 6 tonnes of pinot noir and there is still more out there which will go into a pink sparkling but we have red galore.

Re: Harvest hiatus

lol

Sir, you mistake my interest in your health for concern …

One of the more interesting effects of my own surgery was the severe discomfort caused by coughing which paled into insignificance compared to the screaming agony that ensued why I was caught by a surprise sneeze around 6 weeks after the operation  devil

Am I right to presume that the Pinot crop is inflicted with high quality as well as quantity ?  I have relatively recently come to appreciate the flexibility of PN when it comes to food as well as the variations due to terroir etc but have yet to taste a really excellent British one …

cool

Re: Harvest hiatus

Bob, I've passed the sneeze, cough, fart and yell test so there should be no surprises.....hopefully.

The pinot was quality and quantity, so clean and ripe.
