The end of an era ...

sad

I've just been on the Surf Forum and the most recent post is from Lucky explaining that it was no longer viable and was closing down ...

Re: The end of an era ...

It’s had a good run & when I was starting out it enabled me to repair most things I did wrong. Except the rear brakes for which Tony had some dimples in his drive for quite a while!

Re: The end of an era ...

Either that or he’s stuck in the hole again, trying to dig himself out.

Re: The end of an era ...

Hello each big_smile  found my old password and stuff and it worked ok, I thought there'd be more ex-pats here from the motherland!, it is/was sad news but I guess mainly that they just got fed up with it, cant see it all being down to money as so many other websites are free for members, does Matt still frequent his own site? whistle  whistle  every time I have logged on in the past year or so there's been no one about,
still messing with my Surf, has everyone else moved on to a sensible car? lol  cheer's ian

Re: The end of an era ...

Welcome back, if you can flick the duster around whenever you pop through it helps.
With regards to Mat I think he’s got stuck in his hole.

Re: The end of an era ...

hmm

Wife decided she wanted a new car so the Surf went and we got a Kuga ...  3 months later I have a heart attack & quad bypass (No permanent damage) and while I'm recovering we get a puppy ... Said puppy is now 2.5 years old, weighs 45kg and the wife wants another one - Kuga's a bit too small for 2 huge dogs and an awning so I'm trying to work out how to get a large reliable 4x4 !

Welcome back (And don't mention JC's birthday cos it's only October !)

cool

Re: The end of an era ...

Welcome back Ian, good to see you here again.

Hmmm sensible hmmm I got a Merc R class and it was a heap of sh1te !

So it went and got replaced by a Peugeot 3008 Hybrid (yep super sensible) but we also have a Merc SLK200 which is great fun but can hardly be described as sensible  devilish

And yes the 3008 is a 4*4, but in a french way ! diesel 2 litre driving the front wheels and an electric motor for the back wheels when required !  roll

Re: The end of an era ...

Hi guys, Sorry to hear about your heart attack Bob, but glad to hear it's turned out ok for you, aint no fun at all getting old, I've been pretty lucky I guess, useual aches and pains but nowt serious (yet) roll  you may remember I got a dog off Marky, remember him? went all the way from here (Havant) to Manchester to pick up Buster the Beagle, we had him a month, a real handful which became dangerious for my wife with all her ailments so we had to get him rehomed, doing very well last we heard, younger family who already had a Beagle so he fit in well, then my wife wanted a small dog, got a Shih-Tzu (Patch) loved him to bits but he was the Shih-Tzu from hell at times, bit us, non stop moaning, murder with his food but he broke my heart when he developed Liver failure and had to be put to sleep,  We now have a female Shih-Tzu and what a difference, very loving, really good natured, loves a bath and combe  which we could never do with Patch, not a bad bone in her body, the best company,
I keep thinking about getting rid of the truck but short of a nice classic car like a 1960 Cresta you can shove all the new ones,  I started re-doing the dash in the truck but it's proveing a dash too far, i'll stick a pic or two on when I figure how, had to learn how to use a sowing machine as I'm using a good quality Faux leather,
I eventually signed up on facebook (it get us all in the end) devil  devil  i'll check the hilux one when I get round to it, still it's nice to see some of the olduns on here, should we organise a search party with a torch and rope ladder for Matt? lol
