Lower Dashboard Removal

Driver Side | Passenger Side

You may need need to remove the lower dashboard to get at the front dash fitted speakers or to access any of the dash wiring etc.

Tools/Equipment Needed

  • Cross-head & flat-bladed screwdrivers
  • Small socket (10 or 12mm I think - sorry can't remember!)

Driver Side

Remove the two screws by the ignition (A).

You will also need to remove the hand throttle knob - just give it a good tug (no sniggering at the back there!).

Then undo the hand throttle retaining nut (A).

Remove the lower bolt by the door in the drivers footwell (A).

Remove the screw below the handbrake lever (A).

You should now be able to remove the drivers side lower dash panel. If you ave dash-fitted speakers they are attached to the dash panel, so be careful as you take the panel off and disconnect the speaker wires as you do so.

Passenger Side

Remove the lower bolt by the door in the passenger footwell (A).

Remove the screw at the bottom of the glove box (A).

Open the glove box and undo the three screws along the top edge (A).

You should now be able to remove the whole glove box/dash panel. If you ave dash-fitted speakers they are attached to the dash panel, so be careful as you take the panel off and disconnect the speaker wires as you do so.

Here you can see where the speakers fit - I replaced mine with these 10cm Sony speakers which just about fit to the original self-tapping screw holes.
